Black Friday!

What a day! I was basically glued to the computer for an eternity it seems like. Trying to get some good toy deals among other things. But it paid off and I got what I wanted.

Eli is still pretty sick, runny nose, fever, not eating etc. He is such a happy baby even when he is sick!

Jumperoooooooooo!

Eli loves his rain forest jumperoo! I highly rec-amend it. It keeps him occupied and he NEVER cries to be taken out of it. I had originally bought the jumperoo as a present for my nephew luke, my sister-in-law handed it down to her sister-in-law who then gave it back to me!

Crazy People

I am so mad at what I have been reading about in the news lately. 10 month olds getting raped, 2 year old left alone in a car, kids being killed and all off this by people they knew and loved. THEIR PARENTS! Makes me so mad it's unbelievable.

Why have kids if your going to do those things to them? WHY? What sort of high do you get from raping a flipping 10 month old?

It makes me so upset because I know there are so many deserving women that would be so happy to have a baby. It's times like these that make me want to adopt every child out there and shower them with love.

I really hope that I am not the only one feeling as if the world is going astray these days. Some days I hear nothing but good news then some days it's an tornado of people and their bad parenting skills.

I grew up in Trinidad , where the biggest news you would hear about is the fight that went down in the market on Sunday. I admit my life was pretty much sheltered. My parents moved my brother and I to Queens, NY in the summer of 2001.

I for some reason was very excited to move but once we got here it was not what I expected. The summer was okay but once fall hit, I was very home sick. School was different, instead of coconut trees and grass there was concrete and steel. It took me a while to adjust. In 2003 I met my husband. It was, for me, love at first sight. Eight years later we had our son.

My son was very much wanted. We were ecstatic to find out we were expecting and happily awaited his arrival. Life has not been the same since we had him, both my parents are wrapped around his finger. I cannot imagine ever doing anything to intentionally hurt him so that is why it is so hard for my to hear about these disturbing stories.

I pray for each and every one of these children.

Changes.

Sometimes when the world is zooming by I just want to yell STOP! But life must go on, things change, people change, life changes....

Eli is what we have always prayed for and more. God truly blessed us when he gave us to him. He makes me smile every time I look at him. Sometimes I wonder what it will be like when he grows into a teenager, how would I deal with him then?

Until then I will continue to love on him.

The day was pretty uneventful, grandpa came over for a visit. Then I went to visit my sister-in-law in the hospital. She comes out tomorrow. I have decided that I NEED a spa day so tomorrow shall be that day. YAY.

Some pictures of the last 6 months--

Just a couple days old.

Eve of Eli's 1/2 birthday...

I cannot believe that my sweet baby boy will be 6 months tomorrow! Time flies by so quickly! Eli has brought us unbelievable amounts of joy. I never knew that you could love another human being as much as I love Eli.

These past six months has been the best days of my life and I would not trade it for anything else in the world. Mama and Dada loves their baby boy so much!

New Baby

My sister-in-law welcomed her baby girl Leah today. Looking at the tiny precious gift from god I couldn't help but think about Eli and the day that he was born. She looked so tiny and peaceful and oh so perfect in every way.

God is good!

Meeting Santa

Eli's first interaction with the white bearded man was actually pretty god. The day started off bad to say the least but ended well.

We were supposed to go take his 6 month pictures but after passing by Santa on our way into the mall I decided to forgo picture people and go with Santa. Two pictures into the shoot and we had a winner!

In other news Eli's beloved Giraffe Sofie was accidentally dropped out on the road and in term got ran over by a car. Craig found her and relayed the bad news to me. I couldn't believe it. She does not look that bad though so maybe I will be able to help her.
